Person-centred Care

Person-centred Care

This is a comprehensive service for you if you need help with everyday tasks. Person-centred care is a regulated activity, which means an aspect of personal care services is required to be registered and are inspected, and rated.

Personal and nursing care may be an option if you need support to live comfortably and safely at home.

These services include, but are not limited to;

1

Assisting clients with their personal hygiene

Personal hygiene is washing, bathing, brushing of teeth, cutting of nails, continence care, etc.
2

Assistance with dressing

This includes helping clients to get dressed, choosing appropriate clothing or to give full support in dressing, or just helping with socks or surgical stockings.
3

Advice and encouragement

We also offer vital emotional and psychological support that you may need.
4

Assistance with meals

We can support with preparing foods at any level. Support with helping to eat can also be included.
5

Assistance with mobility

We help by giving assistance to those that are immobile or substantially immobile
6

Support with medication

We can support with full administration of medication, prompting (or reminding) medication where appropriate and safe to do.

Benefits of our Person-centred Care

In getting to know you as a person, our personal care plan will outline your likes and dislikes, the hygiene or beauty products you want to use, and what and who you feel most comfortable with. Particular tasks, such as cutting nails, shaving, and diabetic foot care, will always be outlined in your support plan with specific instructions for your carer.

Each carer is expertly trained to provide personal care in a way that is discreet and respectful of your personal boundaries. They undertake extensive training where they learn the importance of enabling your dignity and independence at all times.

Even though our carers are trained to provide all aspects of person-centred care, there may be some things you’d prefer to do for yourself. The carer will also give you space when you want it and encourage your independence wherever they can.

Assured Quality Care

Are there security checks for carers? – Private in-home care agencies complete Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) checks for all carers. Further, at First Divine Care(FDC) Personnel, it is standard procedure to follow up with each carers’ references. This is done to ensure that references check out and to inquire about the quality of care delivered by a carer and whether it is up to the FDC standard – above par care that is delivered with compassion.
